Bonnies Comeback Falls Short VS. Siena, 14-12

St. Bonaventure N.Y – The St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse team failed to complete the second half comeback as they fell to the Siena Wednesday afternoon by a score of 14-12 at the Marra Athletics Complex.

Siena got off to a fast start with Grace Dobrynski finding the back of the net for the game's first goal 43 second in.

The Saints then added four scores in the first five minutes of the game which was capped off by a Katy Wangsness goal.

Freshman Brooke Piper was able to connect on a shot to trim Siena's lead to 5-1 at the end of the first quarter.

St. Bonaventure (1-4) was able to find there groove offensively in the second period, finding the back of the net 5 times.

Redshirt freshman Jessica Notaro started off the quarter by connecting on a free position shot to add her ninth goal of the season. Junior Abby Hiltz provided the next two goals for the Bonnies, while Notaro added her second of the game to enter halftime trailing by a score of 9-6.

The Bonnies scored four unanswered goals to take the lead midway through the third, as four different players found the back of the net, including both Hiltz and Notaro which completed hat tricks on the for them in the game.

Hiltz's fourth goal of the contest would bring the Bonnies within one, 13-12, in the fourth quarter but that would be the closest they would come as the Saints would add one more score to pull away with the victory.

Notaro and Hiltz each finished with four goals, while Fiona McGovern, Brooke Piper, Megan Schillinger, and Riley Schott all found the back of the net for St. Bonaventure.

Siena (3-2) was led by Dobrzysnki (two goals/five assists), Rebecca Gilhooley (five goals, one assist) and Kelly Logue (one goal, two assists).

In net, goalkeeper Sabrina Krasner made 12 saves in net for the Saints.

The Bonnies will travel east to take on Bucknell on Saturday, March 4. Start time is set for 4:00 p.m.
