ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The St. Bonaventure University baseball team fell to New Mexico, 16-6, in the final game of the series Sunday afternoon.

The Lobos got on the board first in the bottom of the first when Braydon Runion singled through the left side to score Jeffrey David.
Â
The big inning for New Mexico came in the third as the Lobos knocked in 11 runs on seven hits to take a commanding 15-0 advantage.

A pair of two-run home runs from Kevin Smith and Dylan Ditzenberger were the big blows in the third frame.
Â
St. Bonaventure (1-7) cut into New Mexico's lead in the top of the sixth, tallying three runs on five hits.
Â
Freshman
Evan Dieter drove in his first collegiate run on a single, while
Danny Manion and
Christian Szablewski delivered back-to-back RBI singles.
Â
Manion had a great series at the plate, going 6-for-8 with two home runs and eight runs batted in.

In the top of the seventh inning, senior
Pierce Hendershot blasted a three-run home run for his first big fly of the season.

The Lobos (9-2) ended the game in the bottom of the seventh due to the 10-run rule, thanks to an RBI single from Justin Olson to secure the 16-6 victory.

Right-handed starter Isaac Gallegos threw five scoreless innings for the Lobos, giving up three hits and striking out five batters for his second win on the mound this season.

Redshirt junior
Adam Rankie notched three hits for St. Bonaventure, while
Conner Vercollone recorded his first two collegiate hits and
Pierce Hendershot was 2-for-2 off the bench.

New Mexico was led at the plate by Devon Dixon (three RBIs) and Deylan Pigford (two RBIs) who each tallied two hits.

The Bonnies will travel to North Carolina next weekend to take on Gardner-Webb in a four-game series beginning on Friday, March 10. First pitch on Friday is set for 4:00 p.m.
