ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – A five-run fourth inning propelled the St. Bonaventure University baseball team past Saint Louis, 10-7, at Handler Park Friday afternoon.

Both teams combined for 29 hits in Friday's contest.

The Billikens jumped out to a 4-1 advantage after three innings thanks to a pair of home runs from Austin Neuweg and Ethan Sitzman.
The Bonnies came roaring back in the fourth.

Artin Biageyian kicked off the scoring in the frame with an RBI single to score
Pierce Hendershot.

Kyle Caccamise,
Jack Putney, and
Jackson DeJohn followed Biageyian with RBI singles of their own to give the Bonnies a 7-4 lead.

After St. Bonaventure captured the lead, starter
Gabe Watts threw a strong fifth innings to complete his day. Watts picked up his second win of the season, pitching five innings and scattering seven hits  with three strikeouts.

The Bonnies (5-19, 2-3 A-10) then put the game into the hands of closer
Liam Devine, who got the final 12 outs out the bullpen to earn his fourth save of the year.

Saint Louis would pressure Devine, notching two runs in the sixth to cut its deficit to 7-6.

However, an
Adam Rankie long ball and a two-run double off the bat of
Danny Manion helped the Bonnies move to 2-3 in A-10 play.

The Billikens (17-11, 4-1 A-10) loaded the bases in the seventh, but Devine was able to work his way out of trouble.

Rankie (two RBIs) and Putney (one RBI) each recorded three hits at the plate for St. Bonaventure.

Ethan Sitzman led the way for the Billikens, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs.

The Bonnies and Billikens will be back at it Saturday afternoon to decide the series. First pitch is set for noon.
