ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University baseball team dropped a hard-fought battle, 7-5, against Saint Louis Saturday afternoon in the deciding game of the Atlantic 10 series at Handler Park.

The Bonnies got on the board first with a sacrifice fly from
Evan Dieter.
Â
Saint Louis (18-11, 5-1 A-10) answered with RBI doubles in the third and the fourth to take a 3-1 lead, however.
Â
Thomas Grilli cut the deficit for St. Bonaventure, blasting a solo home run over the center field wall in the home half of the fourth.

The Bonnies knotted the score at four apiece with a pair of sacrifice flies from
Jackson DeJohn and
Kyle Caccamise in the fifth and sixth innings.

St. Bonaventure (5-20, 2-4 A-10) secured a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh, thanks to a bases loaded walk by pinch hitter
Mark Darakjy.

However, the Billikens rallied in the eighth inning, scoring two runs on three hits to grab a 6-5 advantage.

The Billikens tacked on a run in the ninth to claim the rubber game of the series by a score of 7-5.

Ethan Bell earned the win out of the bullpen for Saint Louis, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing four hits on two runs while striking out five batters.
Â
At the plate, Patrick Clohisy led the way, going 4-for-4 with two RBIs.

In relief for St. Bonaventure,
Bryce Hediger pitched 2.2 innings and scattered seven hits on two runs with two strikeouts.

Grilli, Dieter, and
Jackson DeJohn each finished with two hits and an RBI at the dish Saturday afternoon.

The Bonnies will remain at home to take on Little Three rival Canisius in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at Handler Park. Game one is set for 2:00 p.m.
