ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Four members of the St. Bonaventure University women's lacrosse team have earned recognition on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Teams for their work in the classroom and on the field this year: Nora Anderson, Fiona McGovern, Paige Szymusiak and Caroline Yoder.

The 2023 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions. At-large sports include golf, fencing, ice hockey, gymnastics, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, water polo, beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, field hockey and wrestling.

Anderson, a senior from Pittsford, N.Y., has been an integral part of the women's lacrosse program throughout her four-year career. She has played in 52 career games with 51 goals and 18 assists along with 61 draw controls. A 2022 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team selection, she graduates with a degree in elementary/special education and a 3.91 cumulative GPA. She was also honored with St. Bonaventure's Women's Letterwinner Award this spring for her academic and athletic accomplishments.

McGovern was one of the Atlantic 10's top players this past season. Her 70 points on the year rank tied for fourth in single-season Bonnies history while her 47 goals stand sixth in the program record book. Among A-10 players, she stood sixth in goals, eighth in points and ninth in assists during this past season. She scored at least one goal in 17 of 18 games this spring including multiple goals in 13 contests and at least a hat trick in eight games. She tallied six goals twice – at Arizona State and vs. VCU. Her 24 free position goals also represent a single season Bonnies record. In the classroom, the Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. native is just as successful as she owns a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a sophomore biochemistry major.

A junior from Lancaster, N.Y., Szymusiak is in her third season with the Bonnies as a marketing major where she has a 3.90 cumulative GPA. This past season, she played in 17 games including seven starts as a Bona's defender. She forced 14 caused turnovers and scooped up 16 groundballs. She has appeared in 43 career games as a key contributor for the team.

Yoder adds another honor to her resume following four seasons with the program. A chemistry major from Amherst, N.Y., she earned her undergraduate degree with a 3.71 cumulative GPA and also owns a 4.0 GPA in graduate classwork. She received the Chemistry Promise Award presented by the American Chemical Society acknowledging her undergraduate accomplishments and prospects for a bright future and was named St. Bonaventure's Women's Merit Award winner. She has battled injury during her career, but played in 12 games with 13 groundballs and four caused turnovers this spring.

CSC Academic All-District honorees are nominated and voted on by sports information directors across the country. For more information about CSC Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Teams program, visit AcademicAllAmerica.com.
