Box Score DAVIDSON, N.C.—The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team secured its first Atlantic 10 win of the season at Davidson, winning 1-0 on the road Sunday afternoon.
Â
Senior
McKenna Robinson's 55
th minute goal was the difference maker in the contest.
Olivia Allen made a fast break toward the net, drawing the Davidson keeper out to make a diving tackle. The ball then found its way to the feet of Robinson who sent a high flying shot to the top right corner, putting the Bonnies on top 1-0.Â
Â
Robinson, who has played in all eight games for the Bonnies, made her first start of the 2023 season. She had one assist this year when the Brown and White hosted Detroit Mercy.Â
Â
A back and forth first half ended in a 0-0 deadlock. St. Bonaventure and Davidson both took two shots on target in the opening 45, however, the best opportunity came from Savannah Pruitt for the Wildcats. Pruitt settled a cross in front of the net, but
Chiara Gottinger made a terrific diving save to keep things scoreless.Â
Â
After Robinson's goal, the Bonnies locked things down defensively to protect the lead. Gottinger finished the game with four saves and posted her second shutout of the week. That brings her career total to 12 and she moves into a tie for fourth on the Bonnies career shutout list.Â
A strong starting 11 helped the Bonnies to their first conference win with all but three playing the full 90 minutes.Â
Â
The Bonnies take the field again on Thursday as they head to the Bronx, N.Y. to take on Fordham.Â
