BRONX, N.Y.— The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team collected their second Atalntic 10 victory in a row with a 3-1 win over Fordham, powered by sophomore
Ami Komori who scored all three goals for the Bonnies. With Thursday's win, the Bonnies have their best start to A-10 play since 2009 at 2-0-1.
It was a historic night for Komori as she tallied the first hat trick by a Bona's player in over 15 seasons.
Komori netted her first of the night just over 15 minutes in as she took a pass from senior
McKenna Robinson just outside the box and sent a screaming shot into the lower-left corner.
Fordham (3-5-2, 1-1-1 A-10) grabbed the equalizer just before halftime sending the teams into the intermission squared at one.
The Otsu, Japan native wasted no time in the second half, putting one over top of a leaping Rams keeper to give St. Bonaventure the lead once more. She was assisted by sophomore
Olivia Allen who played the ball to her feet and giving her the opportunity to split two defenders and find the back of the net.
The hat trick was complete in the 70
th minute as Komori took a long ball from junior center back
Bridget Kennedy, and beat the keeper on the left side.
Reigning A-10 Defensive Player of the Week
Chiara Gottinger put on a defensive show in net as she made a season-high 11 saves.
The Bonnies (3-2-5, 2-0-1) return to Marra Athletics Complex on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff against Duquesnes.
