The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team squares off with Richmond on Sunday. The Bonnies look to pick up the win and three points towards Atlantic 10 standings after a week off from competition. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Richmond.
LAST WEEK'S ACTION
The Bonnies went 1-1-0 last week with a 3-1 win over Fordham and a 2-0 loss to Duquesne. At Fordham, sophomore
Ami Komori netted a hat trick to lift St. Bonaventure to their second A-10 victory of the campaign.
McKenna Robinson,
Lauren Westwood,
Olivia Allen, and
Bridget Kennedy were credited with assists on Komori's goals.
Against the Dukes, the Bona's squad put up a defensive battle, but ultimately fell short. Duquesne was able to capitalize on a corner to go up 1-0 after a scoreless first half. They doubled their lead on an untimely giveaway from the Bonnies in their own defensive third.
EXTRA REST
The Bonnies took this Thursday off from game action before they head to Richmond Sunday. They also have next Thursday off and return to play on Sunday Oct. 8 at UMass.
KOMORI MAGIC
Komori doubled her number of goals scored from last year as she collected her fourth, fifth and sixth of the season at Fordham last Thursday. The hat trick was the first for the Bonnies in over 15 seasons. She's currently tied for leading goal scorer in the A-10 with Taylor Harrison of Loyola Chicago.
The former Atlantic 10 All-Rookie selection garnered A-10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors following her performance at Fordham. Komori was also an honorable mention on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.
WHERE THEY STAND
St. Bonaventure's 2-1-1 start gives the Bonnies seven points in the conference standings and puts them just three points back of leaders UMass and Saint Louis. VCU also has seven points while La Salle, Dayton, and Duquesne have nine.
Junior goalkeeper
Chiara Gottinger leads the A-10 in saves with 58 and is second in saves per game with 5.8.
Oliva Allen is one of the top offensive producers in the A-10 with 10 points joining fellow sophomore Komori who has 12.
