CHICAGO – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell to Loyola Chicago, 78-50, Saturday afternoon at Gentile Arena.
Isabellah Middleton and Dani Haskell paced the Bonnies with 13 points each.
Middleton netted the first basket of the game, but the Ramblers responded with a quick 8-0 spurt to take the lead early on.
It was Middleton again who ended the Loyola run as she scored the Bonnies first 10 points of the contest.
Loyola's Alyssa Fisher tallied the final four points of the first quarter to give the hosts a 19-12 lead after one.
The Ramblers (10-8, 4-3 A-10) took a 10-point lead with 5:57 remaining in the first half but the Bonnies outscored the hosts, 10-5 over the next 3:41 to pull within five just before halftime, 32-27.
Loyola Chicago, however, closed the half on a 6-0 run to take a 38-27 lead into halftime.
Middleton and Haskell combined for 23 of the Bonnies (4-14, 1-6 A-10) 27 points in the first half.
The hosts came out of the halftime locker room with the momentum, growing the lead to as many as 19 in the third period.
Loyola Chicago maintained its double-digit lead through the fourth, earning the victory.
