DAYTON, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell to Dayton, 64-43, Sunday afternoon at UD Arena.
Nadechka Laccen and Dani Haskell paced the Bonnies with 13 points apiece while Kirah Dandridge added six points.
Sunday's matchup saw both sides in a defensive battle in the first quarter.
Haskell paced the Bonnies with six points in the opening quarter as the Bonnies trailed the Flyers by just a bucket, 11-9, after 10 minutes.
Dayton, however, opened the second on a 7-0 run to take an 18-9 lead early in the period.
Bona's responded with a 7-2 spurt, pulling within four midway through the quarter, 20-16.
The Flyers (9-11, 3-6 A-10) were able to get the lone basket of the final three minutes of the half to fall with 33 second showing on the clock, taking a 24-18 lead into halftime.
The Bonnies opened the second half with a 6-0 run, capped off by Laccen's three with 8:09 on the clock, tying the game at 24-24.
Later in the third, the Flyers took an 11-point advantage following an 8-0 run.
The hosts held on to their double-digit lead throughout the fourth quarter, pulling away in the final minutes.
The Bonnies (4-16, 1-8 A-10) are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 31 when they host Davidson. Tip is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Reilly Center.
