Women's Soccer Welcomes Fordham for Sunday Matinee

The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team gears up for their first home contest in over two weeks as they welcome Fordham into the Enchanted Mountains Sunday afternoon.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies secured their first Atlantic 10 Conference win of the season over Rhode Island Thursday evening. Freshman Torrie Grant-Clavijo and graduate student Thea Juul netted goals for Bona to secure the 2-1 road victory.
 
SBU senior keeper Chiara Gottinger posted seven saves in the win over the Rams.
 
PINK GAME
St. Bonaventure will sport pink warmup jerseys at Sunday's game in recognition of breast cancer awareness month. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as well.
 
The Bonnies are raising money for the Pink Pumpkin Project. The Pink Pumpkin Project offers emotional and financial support to individuals fighting breast cancer who live in our local communities. They provide totes with many items needed during treatment along with a monetary donation.
 
ABOUT FORDHAM
  • The Rams are currently third in the A-10 Conference standings with 14 points from a 4-2-2 league record.
  • Fordham's leading scorer is freshman Liina Tervo with 26 overall and 12 in conference games.
  • Junior Kayla King has played the last two games in net for the Rams, posting a shutout against GW Thursday.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Bonnies are 7-17-2 all-time against the Rams but have won two of the last three meetings. SBU tallied a 3-1 victory over Fordham in the Bronx last season and a 2-1 win on the road in 2021.
 
St. Bonaventure's 3-1 win in 2023 was the largest margin of victory for Bona over the Rams.
