Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies senior Sydney Hayward.
Â
Sydney Hayward scored her first career goal in a Bonnies uniform as a junior when she scored the game-winner against Niagara. Later in the season she scored her second goal against Robert Morris.
As a junior, Hayward played a team high 1,529 minutes in a breakout season for the native of Hilton, N.Y. She started 16 of her 17 appearances that season after appearing as a reserve during her freshman and sophomore seasons. She has played in 48 games during her Bonaventure career including 33 starts.
During her career as a Bonnie, Hayward has earned honors to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team last spring.Â
