St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse alum Zack Belter made school history this September at the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, N.Y., becoming the first-ever Bonnies alum to appear in the tournament.

The Wheatfield, N.Y. native played defense for Team USA, appearing in four of the team's six games throughout the tournament. He helped bring the team to a silver medal, making for the highest finish for the U.S. in tournament history. The team defeated England and Ireland once each and Haudenosaunee twice, outscoring those opponents 75-29. They fell to Canada once in pool play and again in the gold medal game.

The silver medal adds to an impressive few months for Belter, who helped the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League win their second consecutive league championship as a rookie this past May.

He also became the first former Bonnie to win an NLL championship and visited campus this week. He brought along the NLL Cup trophy as members of this year's Bonnies squad had the opportunity to pose for a photo with the Cup.
