Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies junior Broek Ostrom.

Broek Ostrom walked onto the St. Bonaventure basketball team as a freshman during the 2022-2023 season. 

As a sophomore, Ostrom appeared in seven games where he scored the five points of his collegiate career and recorded three rebounds. Ostrom recorded his first career bucket in a win against Niagara on Dec. 12. Later in the season, Ostrom posted three points against Rhode Island.

In high school, Ostrom averaged over 27 points a game for Holly while also posting eight rebounds and five assists per game. Ostrom also played baseball, football and soccer in high school as well.

Ostrom is a native of Holley, N.Y.
 

What is your favorite memory playing your sport? Playing Akron in the Cavs arena (in Cleveland, Ohio)

What is your favorite hobby to do outside of playing your sport? Making music 

Where is your dream vacation spot? Swiss Alps 

What is the best part about being a part of your Bonnies team? The support of the community 

What is your favorite sports team and who is your favorite athlete? Cleveland Cavaliers and Kyrie Irving

Why did you choose St. Bonaventure? I loved the campus and atmosphere when I toured and ended up falling in love with Bonaventure 

What is your unpopular opinion? Magic Johnson isn't top 8 all-time 

What is your favorite quote from your Coach? "Come on, babe."

Where is your favorite place you've traveled with the team? UMass

If you could live inside one TV show/movie what would it be? Zombieland 

What is something you think most people don't know about your sport? There's more than scoring 

If you weren't playing your sport, what other sport would you most like to play? Soccer

What is your favorite class at SBU and why? Sports and Games. It's with Dr. Oh and it's a laid-back class 

What is your favorite social media app and why? Instagram, the reels are unmatched
