Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies freshman Mackenzie Pettinelli
Freshman Makenzie Pettinelli joins us from Pennsylvania, where she has carved out an important role on the Women's Bonnies basketball team.
So far in her first season, Pettinelli has lightened up the stat sheet. Pettinelli averages 5.4 PPG while shooting 39% from the field and 44% from 3. In her debut game against Binghamton, Pettinelli scored her season high of 14 points which included shooting 4/5 from 3. She has appeared in every game this season for her team up to this point.
In high school, Pettinelli helped Spring-Ford High School to a 27-7 record, averaging 6.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.2 blocks as a senior. During the same season she earned honors to the Pennsylvania Sportswriters 6A All-State Second Team.
Mackenzie Pettinelli is a native of Collegeville, PA.
