Bonnies Fall To Robert Morris In Non-Conference Finale

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell at Robert Morris, 65-41, in the non-conference finale Saturday evening.

Zoe Shaw led the Bonnies with 16 points to go along with eight rebounds, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Nadechka Laccen added eight points and seven rebounds for the Brown and White.

The Bonnies trailed the Colonials, 18-14, after the first 10 minutes as both teams traded baskets.

A pair of free throws from Laccen with 2:52 remaining in the first pulled the Bonnies within one, 13-12.

Coming out of the first quarter break, the Colonials scored the first seven points, extending their lead to 25-14.

Two free throws from Shaw cut the deficit back to single digits, but a Noa Givon three on the other end for Robert Morris to push the lead back to 12.

RMU outscored the Bonnies 10-4 over the final 4:23 of the quarter, taking a 37-22 halftime lead.

Dani Haskell looked to spark the Bonnies (4-7) with a 3-pointer in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 16.

Robert Morris, however, answered with back-to-back scores, halting momentum.

The Colonials (5-7) grew their lead to as many as 22 in the third quarter.

RMU maintained its lead through the fourth period, earning the victory.

Isys Grady and Givon scored a game-high 16 points apiece for Robert Morris.

GAME NOTES

  • The Bonnies struggled to score Saturday, shooting 25.0 percent (12-for-48) from the field while Robert Morris shot 41.3 percent (26-for-63) from the floor.
  • The Colonials won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Bonnies, 42-33.
  • Junior Gabby Robinson Forde made the first start of her career Saturday, playing 21 minutes.
