LORETTO, Pa. – Multiple personal best times highlighted the day for the St. Bonaventure men's track team Saturday on a cold and rainy afternoon at the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash Open.
Freshman Riley Dillon broke his own school record in the 400, crossing the stripe in 50.83 to best his previous mark of 50.94. Dillon came across the line in fourth on Saturday, just ahead of teammate Christian Figueroa who set a new PR as well of 50.93.
Freshman Joshua Lopez paced the team in the 800 with his PR of 1:57.10, jumping to second all-time in school history. He placed third out of 26 competitors in Saturday's race. Senior Zane Courtwright (1:59.76) finished sixth.
Junior Clay Peets and sophomore Aiden Scattergood took the top two spots in the 1500. Peets won the race with a new PR of 4:03.77, good for third in school history. He beat his teammate by less than a second as Scattergood clocked in at 4:04.62. Senior Kieran Ryan (4:12.29) gave the Bonnies a third top-five finisher in the race of 22 competitors as he took fifth.
The Bonnies head to Fairfax, Va. for the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships next Saturday and Sunday.
