ROCHESTER, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure's 4x800 relay team of Alex Ryan, Aiden Scattergood, Brendan Chapple and Ryan Umiker established a new school record to highlight the final regular season outdoor track meet of the 2025 season.

Bona's quartet not only set a new school record, they won Saturday's race with a time of 8:03.65 to break the existing program-best time by nearly 12 seconds.

Other standout Bona efforts included William McCarthy winning the steeplechase. McCarthy clocked in at 9:48.10 as part of a dominating performance that saw him win Saturday's race by 30 seconds.

In the 5K, Bona had two top-10 finishers as Ethan Luce placed sixth (15:42.33) and Colin McCarthy crossed the stripe in eighth (15:46.37) in the field of over 40 competitors.

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH BOB MACFARLANE
"The team battled cold, windy and rainy conditions, but delivered a strong finish filled with standout efforts. Will McCarthy turned in an impressive run and the 4x800 relay team set a new school record. It was a strong finish to a season of growth and momentum. We now  look ahead to the A-10 Championships next weekend at George Mason University, bringing 32 qualified athletes—the largest outdoor track roster in school history.

"As for our graduating seniors, I want to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your dedication, perseverance, and relentless hard work have not only elevated our team but have inspired everyone around you. From early mornings to late nights, you showed up with grit and heart, always pushing yourselves and each other to be better. You've left a mark that won't be forgotten—on the xc course and track, in the locker room, and in our hearts.

"I am incredibly proud of all you've accomplished and even more excited to see where your journey takes you next. Wherever you go, carry that same fire and spirit that made you great here."
