Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. First up, we meet golf grad student Peter Byrne.

Peter Byrne walked onto the St. Bonaventure golf team his sophomore year of college. Now, as a graduate student, Byrne has been recognized as one of the captains on the golf team and is now a leader for the program.

As a senior last year, Byrne enjoyed a breakout season. He played in all 12 tournaments for the Bonnies and posted a 75.7 stroke average for the year. Byrne also has been awarded with College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors twice in his career in 2023 and 2024.

Byrne is a native of South Orange, N.J. He led the team in the season opening tournament at Colgate. Byrne is a 2nd generation Bonnie with both of his parents attending Bona's.
