The GoBonnies.com Student-Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending May 4 are golf senior Michael Bucko and women's track sophomore Madeline McKillop.
Bucko finished his Bonnies career by leading the team at Atlantic 10 Championships in Orlando last week. He raced up the leaderboard in the final two rounds, shooting 1-under par 71 in the second round. His final collegiate round wrapped with a sparkling 3-under par 69 as he tied for 24th on the individual leaderboard.
The Johnson City, N.Y. native led the Bonnies at A-10s for the second consecutive year after a top-10 finish as a junior.
For the season, he compiled a 75.5 scoring average along with three top-10 and four top-20 finishes. Over his career, he remained in the lineup for four seasons while consistently being one of the top players for the squad. He recorded 15 tournament top-10s during his time in Brown and White.
McKillop closed the spring season with an impressive performance at the A-10 Outdoor Track Championships held in Fairfax, Va. last weekend.
She recorded a new school record time in the 800 meters at the conference championship meet, breaking her own old record in the process.
The Sayville, N.Y. native ran the George Mason track in a time of 2:15.23, beating her own record of 2:16.76 set earlier this spring. McKillop placed 15th out of 29 qualifiers for the championship meet.
