The GoBonnies.com Student-Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Oct. 12 are women's tennis freshman Sara Montano Parada and men's soccer graduate Seth Hammond.
Montano Parada had a strong showing at ITA Regionals this past weekend at Harvard, advancing to the Round of 16 in doubles action with Tamara Bachmann while also picking up a singles win in the main draw consolation bracket.
Montano Parada and Bachmann began their run with a win over Blanka DeMicheli and Rhea Rai from Boston U before besting Annelise Beltran and Jolie Holte from Stonehill, 8-1, in the next round.
A native of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Montano Parada picked up a win in singles action against DeMicheli, 6-1, 7-6.
Hammond had a game to remember for the Bonnies against nationally ranked George Mason, tallying six points for the Brown and White in the upset bid.
His four assists set a new Bonnies single-game program record and are the most in a single game this season in the NCAA.
Hammond was selected as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Monday afternoon and also earned a spot on the national Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.
He currently leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 14th in the NCAA with 19 points. His seven goals also lead the A-10 while sitting 18th in the NCAA. Hammond ranks second in the conference and 36th in the NCAA with five assists.
