HIGH POINT, N.C. – St. Bonaventure University men's soccer graduate Seth Hammond has signed a professional contract with Carolina Core FC in MLS Next Pro, the club announced Friday, June 12.

Hammond had a standout season in his lone campaign with the Brown and White, tallying an Atlantic 10-best 21 points on seven goals and seven assists, which ranked first and second in the A-10, respectively.

"We could not be more excited and prouder of Seth for signing his first professional contract," Bonnies head coach Mick Giordano said. "Over the past three and half years, there has not been a player work consistently harder than him. The achievements Seth has made from Asheville to Bonaventure and most recently at Hill City FC with Coach Paulini are beyond deserved awards for the sacrifices he has made. Seth is now achieving the lifelong goal of becoming a pro, and no person is more deserving."

Following the 2025 season, Hammond garnered the first Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference selection for the Bonnies since 2013 while also earning United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team honors.

"Being a Bonnie was one of the highlights of my college career," Hammond said. "Even though we didn't achieve all of the results we wanted on the field, the lifelong friends and memories I made will stay with me my entire life. As well, my time at UNC Asheville taught me the importance of culture and what it means to be a competitor at the highest level."

In addition, Hammond was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team while also earning A-10 Player of the Week and Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week honors during the 2025 season.

"If any player wants to see what it looks like to do the work, be consistent with your effort in the unseen hours, and how to be a great human along the way, there is no better example than Seth," Giordano added. "I know I speak for everyone when I say how proud we all are of him, and we wish him nothing but the very best as he begins his professional career."

For his collegiate career, Hammond appeared in 55 games while registering 15 goals and 10 assists.

"I'm excited for what the next chapter brings," Hammond stated. "I am eternally grateful for the time I spent at both St. Bonaventure and UNC Asheville. I would also like to recognize the Hill City Coaching staff, teammates, and fans that welcomed me with open arms and gave me an amazing experience this summer."
