St. Bonaventure basketball fans will see plenty of changes this season around the Reilly Center.
When the season opens Oct. 29 with a men's and women's exhibition doubleheader, fans will see significant changes to not only the Reilly Center but to the game experience itself.
"It was important to enhance the overall experience for all our guests entering the Reilly Center," said
Bob Beretta, Vice President and Director of Athletics. "For the first time since it was built in the mid-1960s, we have made significant changes to the main concourse that have dramatically changed the overall feel of the building to make it more welcoming and enjoyable."
Some of the changes to The RC that fans will experience include:
- The biggest change for the upcoming season is the addition of alcohol sales in the Reilly Center on game days. Previously restricted to the Hall of Fame Room, both RC concession stands will now feature beer, wine, and seltzer sales with a variety of options available to meet every fan's preference. Alcohol will be sold at all men's and women's home basketball games.
- The Reilly Center concession stands have been renovated to be "Grab and Go" style in order to expedite wait times and streamline efficiency for fans.
- The RC Cafe has also seen an upgrade as summer renovations have transformed the space into Yella's food hub. The RC Yella's menu features hot and cold subs, burgers, chicken tenders, chicken wings, milkshakes, and more. To view the full Yella's menu, CLICK HERE. SBU is one of 27 colleges, primarily in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, to have a Yella's location on campus.
- The "31 Club", a new floor-level hospitality area located at the Hall of Fame end of the arena will be available to all courtside seat holders.
- Stanchion baskets with new shot clocks and LED displays.
- New ceiling tiles, lighting, flooring, and stairway treads for the arena concourse.
- New branding throughout the arena, including the SBU Bookstore.
In addition, the university's Rathskeller will continue to be open two hours before each men's home game.
Students age 21 and older with a legal ID will be allowed to purchase. Sales of all concession items, food and alcohol, will end at the completion of the first timeout of the second half, typically around the 16-minute mark.
Fans who wish to be a designated driver for guests they are attending a game with can receive a voucher for a free non-alcoholic beverage. The vouchers can be picked up at the will call window at the Larry Ford Ticket Office.
St. Bonaventure will host 16 men's basketball home games and 13 women's contests inside the Reilly Center this year.
