Cleveland, Ohio
Hosted by Cleveland State University

The St. Bonaventure men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to Cleveland State this coming Thursday to compete in the 13th annual midseason Magnus Cup at the Busbey Natatorium, a highlight of the Bonnies regular season schedule.

Joining the Bonnies in combined competition will be Binghamton, John Carroll, Le Moyne, Xavier and the hosting Vikings. Akron, Bowling Green, and Northern Colorado join the field in women's competition only. The three-day event will run two swimming sessions per day with diving action in between.

WEEKLY AWARD WINNERS
The Bonnies have benefited from early individual success, leading to multiple Atlantic 10 awards.

Freshman Kate Hill has collected two A-10 Rookie of the Week designations so far this season. She earned the first after finishing the 100-free in 51.89 seconds against Penn State, a mark which ranked first in the conference at the time and currently sits fifth, also winning the 100-free later that week against Rutgers and Fordham. Her second award came after two podium finishes against Cleveland State.

Sophomore Mark Mizsei earned an A-10 Performer of the Week selection after a win in the 200-fly at Niagara, clocking in at 1:47.31 to set a new pool record which still stands as the top time in the conference. He also found second place in both the 100-fly and 200-medley relay to boost his case for the award.

Freshmen Matheus Rinaldi and Sophie Baker also earned Rookie of the Week honors once each. Rinaldi won two individual events at Cleveland State to win the award, including a first-place finish in the 1650-free as he clocked in at a current conference-best time of 15:56.52. Baker was recognized after individual wins in the 100-back and 100-fly at Canisius, where she also contributed to victories in the 200-free relay and 200-medley relay.

POOL RECORDS
Alongside Mizsei, several Bonnies have made it into the record books this season by posting new pool-best times at Niagara. Rinaldi posted a time of 9:37.81 in the 1000-free and junior BYU transfer Joseph Pyon clocked in at 48.41 in the 100-fly to set pool records. Pyon's mark still sits as the third-best in the A-10.

Baker also set a pool record against the Purple Eagles with a mark of 25.51 in the opening 50-back leg of the 200-medley relay.

NCAA DIVING ZONES QUALIFIERS
St. Bonaventure has been no stranger to diving success this year as senior Ben O'Neill and sophomore Dhav Mendoza have each qualified for NCAA Diving Zones. O'Neill met the standard with a score of 315.10 on the 1-meter board against Fordham. Mendoza scored a 286.10 on the 3-meter board against Rutgers and Fordham to qualify, later posting a mark of 268.73 on the 1-meter board against Canisius to round things out.
