ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure women's soccer head coach
Melissa Sherwood has announced the addition of two recruits to the program in preparation for the 2026 season. Jada Lloyd and Deanna Romero will both join the team in the spring.
Â
"We are excited to welcome Deanna and Jada to the Bonnies family! They are two truly outstanding young women both on and off the field, which is proven by the fact that they will graduate early and join us as soon as next semester. We look forward to welcoming the New Year with our first signings of our 2026 class," Sherwood said.
Â
Llyod will join the Bonnies as a midfielder from Eden, Md. A four-year varsity starter and two-time team captain at Parkside High School, she earned First Team All-Conference honors three times throughout her career. A National Honor Society student with a 4.0 GPA, her mother played collegiate volleyball at Loyola Marymount University while her father played soccer at Susquehanna University.
Â
"I chose St. Bonaventure because it was a great academic fit and the team had a welcoming environment," Lloyd said.
Â
Romero will join St. Bonaventure from Port Saint Lucie, Fla. as a forward. A team captain and two-time Offensive Player of the Year for Treasure Coast High School, Romero was an honors student in the top 10 percent of her class academically with a 4.0 GPA. She also played club for the Palm Beach Gardens Predators and was named a two-time Olympic Development Program selection in both regional and state classifications.
Â
"I chose St. Bonaventure because of the people. Everyone is kind and inviting," Romero said. "The environment is one where I want to be, and to compete and play soccer at the Division I level is an amazing opportunity."
