ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure head softball coach Camden Decker has announced the addition of nine student-athletes to the roster for the 2027 season.

Julia Ford, Leanna Boccieri, Emily Romig, Gigi Payne, Addison Siple, Leah Figueroa, Sela Rodriguez, Kaya Werley and Brianna Sims have all committed to join the Bonnies next fall.
"I'm incredibly proud of our 2026 signing class, which is my first as head coach and also at St. Bonaventure," Decker said. "We've secured nine outstandingly talented athletes, including a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year from Alaska and many others with regional and all-state honors. These players boast power, speed, and high-level travel ball experience that will mark a significant upgrade to our roster. This group expands our reach far beyond the local area, with signees from places like Anchorage, Alaska and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and they should lay a strong foundation for our impending ascension to the top of A10 softball. Drawing from my networks at previous institutions, I've been able to cast a wider net to attract this caliber of talent, and I can't wait to see how their skills propel our program forward."

Joining the Bonnies from Lake View, N.Y. out of Frontier Central High School is Julia Ford. A catcher, she compiled a .571 batting average which led her league, also posting an on-base percentage of .625 and a slugging percentage of 1.130. She was named a league all-star twice and earned 2025 All-WNY Softball honors. She also competed for the UNY Revolution club team where she had a .583 batting average alongside a .714 on-base percentage and five home runs. Ford intends on majoring in biology.
"I chose St. Bonaventure because it is my firm belief that the school aligns with my Franciscan values," Ford said. "My mother is a 1999 graduate, so I spent a lot of time on campus for basketball games, sporting events, campus tours and other events. This place is truly magical."

Leanna Boccieri joins the Bonnies from Poland, Ohio out of Poland Seminary High School. A catcher and third baseman, she tabbed a career batting average of .411 with over 100 total hits and 47 RBIs. She was named a Northeast 8 First Team selection and a Youngstown Sports Network Regional All-Star selection twice each, also earning Northeast Ohio Second Team All-Region honors in 2025. Boccieri also played club for Team Pennsylvania-Kowalski and intends on majoring in chemistry.

"I chose St. Bonaventure because of its beautiful setting and the values the students and faculty embody," Boccieri said.

Joining the Bonnies out of Warwick Valley High School from Warwick, N.Y. is Emily Romig. A first and third baseman and captain of her team, she was named and Academic All-American and a New York State Scholar Athlete selection. Romig also played club for Team Long Island and intends on majoring in health sciences.
"I chose St. Bonaventure because from the first moment I stepped on campus, I knew it was the school for me. Everything was perfect from the academic buildings to the athletics facilities and the amazing coaching staff. I'm so excited to become a Bonnie and live out my dream of playing college softball," Romig said.

Gigi Payne joins St. Bonaventure from Clinton, Md. out of Bishop O'Connell High School. Primarily an outfielder, she compiled a .438 career batting average with a 1.064 on-base plus slugging percentage and 40 stolen bases. She helped Bishop O'Connell to a 64-0 record in her time playing, contributing to three Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championships and three Virginia Independent Athletic Association state championships. Payne played club for Virginia National Glory Mertz and intends to major in psychology.

"I chose St. Bonaventure because of the beautiful scenery that the campus has to offer. I also fell in love with the softball program and all of the athletics facilities provided here," Payne said.

Joining the Bonnies from Curwensville, Pa. is Addison Siple. A pitcher from Curwensville Area High School, she notched a 1.40 ERA as a junior, striking out 193 batters along the way. That season, she had a .484 batting average with 32 RBIs. The 2023 District 9 Rookie of the Year was also named a ICC North All-Star selection and a MoValley League All-Star selection three times each. She also earned District 9 First Team honors in 2024 and 2025. Siple intends on majoring in marketing.
"I chose St. Bonaventure because I felt at home on campus," Siple said. "The campus is beautiful and the people are friendly. I am looking forward to being a Bonaventure student and softball player."

A catcher from Canfield, Ohio, Leah Figueroa joins the Bonnies out of Canfield High School. Throughout her high school career, she tabbed a .373 batting average with 22 home runs and 87 RBIs. She was named a Second Team All-State selection and won the state championship in 2024. She ranked 20
th nationally in second in the midwest region by Extra Innings. A club player for the Ghent/Blackmon Lady Dukes, Figueroa intends on majoring in communications.

"I chose St. Bonaventure because it immediately felt like home," Figueroa said.

Joining the Bonnies as a pitcher from Anchorage, Alaska is Sela Rodriguez out of Bettye Davis East High School. She compiled a career batting average of .503 and an on-base percentage of .597. On the bump, she struck out 418 batters and notched a 2.04 ERA, including a 0.57 ERA in her junior year. She was named the Gatorade Player of the Year twice as well as the Max Preps Player of the Year in 2025. A three-time All-State and All-Conference selection, she also played club for the Washington Voodoo. Rodriguez intends to major in business.

"I was immediately convinced by St. Bonaventure," Rodriguez said. "The campus felt like home and I'm excited to be a part of what the school is building towards for the future."

Kaya Werley joins the Bonnies from Sinking Spring, Pa. out of Wilson High School. A four-year varsity starter, she notched a career batting average of .461 with 83 hits including 13 home runs. She was named an All-County and All-Division selection three times each, also playing club for Pennsylvania Augustus where she had 10 home runs and a .441 batting average. Werley intends on majoring in pre-law.
"I chose St. Bonaventure because it feels like a home away from home. The atmosphere was peaceful and it truly felt like I could spend four comfortable, consistent and amazing years there.The admissions officers, athletics staff and Coach Decker showed me what St. Bonaventure has to offer and made me want to come back. Missing the campus after just one visit let me know that this is the place I want to be," Werley said.

Also joining the Bonnies from Plantation, Fla. is Brianna Sims. A First Team and Second Team All-County selection, Sims totaled 32 home runs and 143 RBIs while notching a .385 batting average.
