WASHINGTON, D.C. – The St. Bonaventure University softball team dropped a doubleheader on the road at George Washington Friday afternoon.
GW grabbed game one from the Bonnies, 14-0, before winning game two, 10-2.
GAME 1 – George Washington 14, St. Bonaventure 0 (F/5)
George Washington was able to load the bases in the bottom of the first with just one out before taking a 1-0 lead on a fielder's choice.
The Bonnies (4-11, 0-2 A-10), however, were able to work out of the jam to limit the damage.
The Revolutionaries (15-8, 2-0 A-10) extended their lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third, scoring on two singles and a fielder's choice.
GW put game one out of reach for good in the bottom of the fourth, plating 10 runs in the inning to take a 14-0 advantage.
Karena Recrosio and Victoria Jacques registered base hits for the Bonnies.
GAME 2 – George Washington 10, St. Bonaventure 2 (F/5)
Bona's was able to jump ahead first in game two, scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Kendall Stull in the top of the first.
The Bonnies extended their early lead to 2-0 two at-bats later when Kymora Wang crossed home on a double steal.
GW was quick to answer back, scoring four runs on a pair of two-run doubles, taking a 4-2 lead.
The Revolutionaries tacked on an insurance run on a solo home run in the bottom of the second.
George Washington pushed its lead to seven runs with a four-run bottom half of the third, taking control of the game.
The hosts added a run in the fourth, taking a 10-2 lead and earning the victory.
Eleanor Park and Jacques collected hits for the Brown and White.
