WASHINGTON, D.C. – The St. Bonaventure University softball team fell to George Washington, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in the finale of a three-game Atlantic 10 series in Washington, D.C.
The Revolutionaries scored first Saturday, taking a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first.
GW doubled its lead on an RBI single in the second and took a 3-0 lead on an error in the bottom half of the third.
The hosts broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth with a three-run double from Ashley Corpuz. GW tacked on a fourth run in the inning on an RBI single in the next at-bat, making it 7-0 in favor of the Revolutionaries.
Abigail Ahern, Kelsey Brady and Nolah Moyer picked up hits for the Bonnies.
In the circle, Moyer got the start, allowing just two hits. Kendall Stull and Ava Lomelin worked in relief for the Bonnies. Stull struck out three while Lomelin allowed just one hit.
The Bonnies are back in action Thursday, March 20 when they travel to take on Canisius. The non-conference doubleheader is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. in Buffalo.
