WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The St. Bonaventure golf team continued their spring season Monday and Tuesday at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate. Junior Michael Bucko led the way for the Bonnies with a 54-hole total of 222 to tie for 34th in the field of 84.
 
Bucko posted his best round of the tournament during the second round on Monday, carding a 2-over par 74. The junior drained three birdies on the front nine to post a 1-under 35 and offset a 3-over 38 on the back. Bucko posted 75 in the opening round and 74 in Tuesday's final 18-holes.
 
As a team, the Bonnies placed 11^th in the 13-team field, carding their best round in the opening 18 (297). In the next two rounds, the team posted scores of 300 and 299.
 
Senior Peter Byrne had the best round of the tournament for the Bonnies in Monday's opening round with a 1-over 72. Byrne started his day with four consecutive bogeys on holes 13-16 before carding five birdies on the remaining 14 holes to right the ship and finish with a 1-over 72. Byrne tied for 42^nd following matching rounds of 76 to close out the competition.
 
Caleb Decker entered the lineup for the Bonnies with solid first and third rounds. The junior opened the competition with a 2-over 73. After posting 40 on the back nine, Decker recorded two birdies and an eagle on the front for a 3-under 33. He bounced back from a disappointing 81 in the second round with a 74 in the finale to finish with a 54-hole total of 228.
 
Also in the lineup for the Bonnies were Braddock Damore and Gabe Williams (81-74-76).
 
Damore was consistent over three rounds, finishing with matching 77s in the first two rounds and a 75 on the final 18.
 
Dante Bertoni also competed for the Bonnies as an individual (78-78-81).
