The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team continues Atlantic 10 Conference play with a pair of road games this week. The Bonnies begin the week's action in Pittsburgh as they take on Duquesne before traveling to Virginia to meet with VCU. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies had one of their best performances against Richmond in recent history, falling 13-9 after staying even with the Spiders through the first three quarters of play. It was the smallest margin of loss against the preseason Atlantic 10 favorites since 2016 when the Bonnies fell to the Spiders, 17-13.
Three Bonnies combined for the team's nine goals with all securing hat tricks.

Fiona McGovern recorded assists on five of Bona's nine goals.
Katelyn Hicks was solid in the cage for the Brown and White, recording a career-high 15 saves with a .536 save percentage.
CLIMBING THE BOARDS
Senior
Fiona McGovern is climbing in the program record book in multiple categories. She is currently third in career assists (76), tied for seventh in goals (108), and fourth in career points (184).
PIPER POWER
Junior
Brooke Piper leads the Bonnies in goals this season, setting a new single-season career-high with 34 through the first 10 games of the season. Piper is on pace for 57 goals which would be the second-most in a single season for program history. She averages 3.4 goals per game, the second highest average in the Atlantic 10.

Katelyn Hicks has been holding it down in cage for the Bonnies. Hicks is first in the Atlantic 10 in save percentage (.520), second in saves per game (10.3), and second in goals against average (9.42).
CONTROLLING THE DRAW
Megan Schillinger has 99 draw controls on the season and 177 in her career. She is 18 draw controls away from setting the all-time career record of 195 currently held by Courtney Gibbons, '06.
SHARING THE WEALTH
The Bonnies have recorded an assist on over 45 percent of their 130 goals this season and have 32 more assists than their opponents on the year. Bona's has seen 14 different goal scorers through the first 10 games of the year with five players have 20 or more points.
TRENDING NUMBERS
5 - Grace Hollenbeck has only misfired on five shots this season, landing 23 of her 28 shots on cage. The junior has been uber efficient with a .643 shot percentage and a .821 shots on goal percentage.
5 - Fiona McGovern recorded her first five-point game with only assists against Richmond Saturday. Five assists in a single-game is a career-high for McGovern. The senior has 23 assists this season, four off a career-high and 17 off the single-season of 40 set by Brenna Houghton in 2007.
1 - The Bonnies rank first in the Atlantic 10 in draw control percentage, winning 62.5 percent of draws this season, good for eighth in Division I. Bona's also ranks first in the league in save percentage with
Katelyn Hicks putting up an impressive .520 save percentage. That ranks sixth in D-I.
ABOUT DUQUESNE
- The Dukes tout a 5-4 overall record and a 2-2 A-10 mark coming into Wednesday's contest. Duquesne picked up two wins over George Washington and La Salle to start conference play before dropping two in a row to Massachusetts and VCU.
- Senior defender Hannah Pawela is top 10 in Division I in caused turnovers, averaging 2.56 per game.
- Mackenzie Leszczynski leads the team in points with 34 (21G-13A).
- Megan LaBorne has started all nine games in cage for the Dukes, posting a .358 save percentage and 12.86 goals against average.
- Duquesne was picked ninth in the A-10 Preseason Poll ahead of La Salle and Rhode Island.
SERIES HISTORY
The Dukes lead the all-time series over the Bonnies 20-6. However, St. Bonaventure has one the past two meetings 16-15 in 2023 and 19-6 in 2024 at the Marra Athletics Complex. Last year's 11 goal victory is the largest margin of victory for the Bonnies in the 26 game series history.
Grace Hollenbeck tallied a career-high four goals in the 2024 contest while
Brit Colangelo set a career-high in caused turnovers (5) and added five groundballs.
ABOUT VCU
- VCU finished non-conference action with a 2-4 record before going 3-1 to begin Atlantic 10 action. Their lone conference loss came against Massachusetts in their A-10 opener. Since then, the Rams picked up wins over George Mason, George Washington, and Duquesne.
- The Rams were selected to finish fifth in the A-10 Preseason Poll with 68 points ahead of St. Bonaventure who gathered 64 points in the poll.
- Sophomore Rachel Koeneke leads the Rams attack with 31 points (21G-10A) through the first 10 games. Koeneke scored a season-high seven points against GW.
- Molly Coyle and Ava Carillo have split time in goal for the Rams, combining for a .394 save percentage and 11.42 goals against average.
SERIES HISTORY
Since VCU's inaugural season in 2016, the Bonnies have a 2-5 record against the Rams. The Bonnies have won the last two in the seven-game series history, picking up a 15-13 win in 2023 in Richmond and a 13-8 win at the Marra Athletics Complex in 2024.
In the latest meeting,
Fiona McGovern tallied seven points on three goals and four assists.
