ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Joe Grahovac, a 6-foot-10 forward considered one of the nation's top junior college prospects, has signed a letter-of-intent to join the St. Bonaventure men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season.
Grahovac was one of the most highly recruited big men in the West, turning down offers from numerous Power 4 programs in selecting St. Bonaventure.
Grahovac, 23, plans to wear No. 32 for the Bonnies.
Grahovac was honored as the SoCal 3C2A California State Player of the Year, averaging 15.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.7 blocks per game. He shot 62 percent from the floor, 39 percent from beyond the three-point line, and 79 percent on three-pointers. Grahovac averaged 22.3 points per 40 minutes.
Grahovac was the Player of the Year in the Orange Empire Conference, leading the league blocks and finishing fourth in scoring and eighth in rebounding.
Under head coach Perry Webster, Grahovac led Fullerton to a 30-4 record overall (15-2 in the Orange Empire Conference) and a trip to the 3C2A championship game. Grahovac earned a spot on the 3C2A All-Tournament Team.
Grahovac had a career-high 32 points against Santa Ana College on Feb. 19. He had six games of double-doubles, including four straight in late January.
What they're saying about Joe Grahovac
Mark Schmidt, St. Bonaventure Head Men's Basketball Coach
"We are thrilled to welcome Joe to St. Bonaventure and believe that he'll be a cornerstone player for our basketball program. With his great size and superior athleticism, Joe brings guard skills to our frontcourt. His ability to make three-point shots at such a high percentage will generate more spacing on the court --- and his passing will allow us to play more high-low sets. Also, Joe will allow us to run a more effective ball-screen offense because he can both roll and pop. He's going to block and alter shots with his quick-twitch leaping ability and his length and boundless energy will make us much better on the defensive end. I can't wait to coach Joe Grahovac!"
Adrian Wojnarowski, St. Bonaventure Men's Basketball General Manager
"From the moment we began Joe's recruitment, we learned that he's as unique of a person as he is a basketball player. Joe's ability to impact a game with his three-level scoring, passing, shot-blocking, efficiency and relentless effort give him a chance to be an impact player for the Bonnies in the Atlantic 10 and nationally. Joe had the opportunity to play in each of the Power 4 conferences, but bought into Coach Schmidt's vision and track record, the Atlantic 10 Conference and a Bona environment that he found to be warm, inviting and crazy about college basketball.
Joe's life journey is a testament to persistence and staying power and the Fullerton College community – led by head coach Perry Webster and assistants Marshall Johnson, Devin Ugland and Tom Gorrell – helped to transform Joe's life and basketball career. As a university and basketball program, St. Bonaventure will be the beneficiary of Fullerton's competitive environment, winning culture and caring community. Coach Webster's program at Fullerton is the finest in California and one of the best in America and it's prepared Joe well for the challenges awaiting him in the Atlantic 10 and nationally with the Bonnies."
Perry Webster, Fullerton College Head Men's Basketball Coach
"The opportunity for Joe to put on a Bonnies uniform was something that felt right from the first conversations with Woj, Coach Neal and Coach Schmidt. The family atmosphere, the rabid fan base, and the St. Bonaventure environment felt like home. Bona's history as an institution focused on serving its community fits Joe perfectly. Joe finds great motivation by inspiring others and looks forward to inspiring the young fans there. The Bonnies faithful will fall in love with Joe's tenacity, competitiveness, talent, and team-first attitude.
In an era that has increasingly become about money, Joe chose the place that fits him, his game, and his attitude the best. Coach Schmidt will take Joe's game to the next level and the Atlantic 10 will have a serious problem on its hands!"
