ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Five members of the St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team have earned recognition on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference teams, league officials announced Tuesday: freshman Aaron Eberhard, Isaac Farmer and Lad Harper all receive spots on the All-Rookie Team while senior Drew Kenney and sophomore Patrick Shanahan are recognized on the All-Academic squad.
Bona achieves the most selections for the program to both the All-Rookie and All-Academic squads during the Atlantic 10 era which began in 2023.
A four-year member of the program, Kenney posted a 3.83 cumulative GPA as a marketing major and has previously been selected to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The East Aurora, N.Y. native enjoyed his best season as a senior, starting 14 of 16 games with career highs in goals (14), assists (11) and points (25) while also netting two game-winning scores. Kenney delivered the deciding tally in an overtime victory at Mount St. Mary's in one of the most memorable moments of the season.
For his career, Kenney played in 47 games with 43 total points.
Shanahan has recorded a sparkling 3.96 cumulative GPA as a biology major.
On the field, the Bayport, N.Y. native serves as one of Bona's top attackers. He started all 16 games this season while netting 16 goals along with six assists for 22 points. Shanahan also led Bona's field players with 36 groundballs on the season. He scored two game-winning tallies during the season as well.
Eberhard was a standout on the defensive end for the Bonnies.
He started all 15Â games he played in, registering 12Â caused turnovers and 29Â groundballs. The Amherst, N.Y. product posted a career-high three caused turnovers in a win over Cleveland State.
Farmer made an instant impact in the cage this season as a freshman, starting 15 of 16 games while making 173 saves with a .515 save percentage.
Selected the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week after back-to-back wins over Cleveland State and Mercer, he was also picked as the league's Rookie of the Week following the final week of the season when he held High Point to just two second half goals.
The Fort Myers, Fla. native limited opponents to single-digit goals against nine times while making double-digit saves in eight games including a career-high 20 stops vs. Binghamton. His 173 total saves rank second in Bona's single-season history behind only Brett Dobson's 252 in 2022.
Harper became Bona's primary faceoff specialist in his collegiate debut, scoring 118 faceoff wins with a team-high 65 groundballs. He jumps to third in the program's Division I era for faceoff wins in a season and second for groundballs.
For the year, Harper totaled a faceoff win percentage of over 52 percent, good for second in the program record book, while his groundball per game rate of 4.3 per contest stood sixth among all A-10 players.
