ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Three St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse student-athletes have earned recognition as part of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team, officials announced this week: Drew Kenney, Patrick Shanahan and Owen Tasse.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. At-large sports include golf, fencing, ice hockey, gymnastics, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, water polo, beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, field hockey and wrestling.
Kenney graduated with a degree in marketing and a cumulative GPA of 3.83 following a four-year career with Bonnies lacrosse. The East Aurora native previously received Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team honors after ranking second on the team this spring with a career-high 25 points (14G-11A). He stands 11th in Bonnies Division I history with 43 total points in his Bona career and seventh in total assists with 20. He saw action in 48 games during his Bonaventure collegiate career.
Shanahan, a biology major from Bayport, N.Y., owns a 3.93 cumulative GPA and was also selected to the A-10 All-Academic Team. He netted 16 goals along with six assists for 22 points during his sophomore season and also scooped up 36 groundballs. He already stands eighth in Bona D-I history with 46 career points as well as eighth in goals with 31.
Tasse, a redshirt sophomore from Ottawa, has been key to Bona's defense as a long pole. In the classroom, he has recorded a 3.52 cumulative GPA as a marketing major. Tasse led the Bonnies with 16 caused turnovers this spring and set the program's single-game record with six in a win over Mercer. For the year, he ranked tied for eighth among all A-10 defenders in caused turnovers. He also posted 27 groundballs, scored a goal and tallied an assist.
