ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Visiting Saint Joseph's pulled away from the St. Bonaventure baseball team to secure an Atlantic 10 series sweep, 15-2, Sunday afternoon at Handler Park.
The Bonnies struck first, plating two in the second.
Morgan Little drove a double to the right-center gap to score Antonio Cordeiro from first. Following a wild pitch that moved Little to third, the Bonnies added another tally when Ryan Davis snuck an RBI single inside the bag down the left field line for a 2-0 lead.
The advantage would be short-lived, however.
Saint Joseph's immediately responded with five in the third, headlined by a three-run homer to left off the bat of Owen Petrich.
The Hawks (13-17, 7-5 A-10) scored a run in the fourth and two each in the fifth and sixth innings to break the game open.
From there, Saint Joseph's never looked back.
Both Petrich and Carson Applegate delivered three RBIs apiece for the Hawks.
Nathan Stein pitched a complete game win, scattering six hits with three strikeouts and no walks as the game wrapped after seven due to the run rule.
Cordeiro was the only Bonnies player to post multiple hits against Stein.
St. Bonaventure is slated to play at home in midweek action vs. Canisius with first pitch at 3 p.m.
