LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The St. Bonaventure golf team concluded play at the Drexel Match Play tournament Tuesday afternoon outside of Philadelphia.Â
Â
The event began with 36 holes of stroke play to determine seeds in the match play bracket, with the top four teams advancing to the championship bracket. The Bonnies posted team scores of 297 and 303 to finish tied for sixth Monday and earned a date with Drexel B in the consolation bracket Tuesday.
Â
Michael Bucko carded the low round for the Bonnies in the opening round with an even-par 71. The junior made two birdies and two bogeys along with 14 pars on the opening 18 holes. In the second round, Bucko played the front nine +1 but played the back +5 to record a 6-over 77.
Â
Freshman
Braddock Damore recorded a 2-over 73 in the opening round Monday. He recorded 16 pars, with the only blemishes on his card coming on 14 and 15. The second round was more of a struggle for the rookie, going out in +10, but he found his footing on the back nine with an even 35 to finish with an 81.
Â
After recording a 5-over 76 in the first round,
Andrew Murray bounced back on the second 18 with a 1-over 72 in his first event of the spring for the Bonnies.
