The St. Bonaventure University softball team returns to action with five Atlantic 10 contests this week.
The Bonnies get the week started Wednesday, April 9 when they host A-10 preseason favorite Dayton for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Joyce Field.
Bona's then travels to Massachusetts for a three-game series that starts with a doubleheader Saturday, April 12 at noon. The Bonnies and Minutewomen wrap up the three-game series with a single game Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
TEAM LEADERS
Karena Recrosio leads the Bonnies and ranks seventh in the Atlantic 10 in batting average, posting a .352 average. She also ranks 10th in the A-10 with 22 runs scored.
Kymora Wang sits ninth in the Atlantic 10 with a .341 batting average. Kendall Stull ranks third on the Bonnies, batting .326 at the plate. Stull and Wang are tied for the team lead in home runs (2) and RBIs (21).
DAYTON NOTES
- Dayton enters Wednesday's doubleheader 15-13 overall and 5-4 in Atlantic 10 play. The Flyers have not played since traveling to George Washington March 29-30, dropping all three games against the Revolutionaries.
- Emma Schutter leads the Flyers at the plate, hitting .409 on the year with seven doubles, four triples and 29 runs scored. Maddie Kapsimalis (.337) and Kirnan Bailey (.305) are also hitting over .300 for Dayton.
- In the circle, Izzy Kemp is 7-4 with a 2.74 ERA while Haven Dwyer is 6-5 with a 3.74 ERA. Kemp ranks second in the A-10 with 91 strikeouts.
MASSACHUSETTS NOTES
- Massachusetts begins the week with a 9-22 record overall and is 3-6 in A-10 action, picking up a pair of wins over George Mason and one against George Washington.
- Riain Keefe leads the way at the dish with a .305 batting average. Riley Kairer is batting .270 with six doubles and three triples.
- In the circle, Hannah Streicher touts a 3.10 ERA, striking out 28 batters in 58.2 innings of work. Julianne Bolton is 5-6 with a 3.22 ERA and 58 strikeouts.
UP NEXT
The Bonnies are back in action Tuesday, April 15 when they travel to take on Youngstown State. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 2 p.m. in Ohio.
