St. Bonaventure junior pitcher Michael Salina is one of two Atlantic 10 players invited to this week's MLB Draft Combine in Arizona.
This year's combine is set for June 17-21 at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, featuring 322 draft eligible prospects including 180 collegiate players and 142 high school athletes.
The Combine will provide an opportunity for players to participate in a series of on-field, medical and performance assessments as well as educational programming designed to prepare them for careers in professional baseball. All players will have the opportunity to participate in a pro-style showcase workout, as well as strength and performance assessments.Â
Named by Perfect Game and D1Baseball as the top MLB Draft prospect in the Atlantic 10 entering this season, Salina led the Bonnies with 64 strikeouts in 58.1 innings of work in his Bonaventure debut in 2024.
Salina, who hit triple digits during fall ball, averaged nearly 10 strikeouts per nine and ranked top-10 in the conference for punchouts during his first season with the program with some of the most electric stuff in the A-10.
Injury cut short his 2025 campaign as he struck out 26 batters in 17.1 innings of work over four starts.
Salina joins George Mason's James Quinn-Irons as the two A-10 players invited to this year's combine.
As part of the Combine experience, attendees will benefit from the opportunity to interview and interact directly with Major League Club general managers and scouting directors, as well as an enhanced medical evaluation process. Participants at the MLB Draft Combine will also have opportunities to be featured on MLB and USA Baseball social media channels, in addition to receiving personal branding training and access to real-time content and custom video for their own platforms.
The MLB Draft is set for July 13-14 during All-Star Week in Atlanta and features 20 rounds across the two days.
