ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Five members of the St. Bonaventure baseball team have earned distinction as honorees on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, officials announced Tuesday: Antonio Cordeiro, Harrison Kaufman, David Marshall Jr., Luke Roggenburk and Jayce Tharnish.

The 2025 Academic All-District Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

Cordeiro, a sophomore catcher from Pittsburgh, owns a 3.8 cumulative GPA as a sports management major. In his second collegiate season and first as Bona's everyday catcher, Cordeiro led the Atlantic 10 by throwing out 19 attempted base stealers on the year – four more than any other A-10 backstop. He also produced a .986 fielding percentage behind the dish. Offensively, he hit .238 with six doubles, three home runs and 16 RBIs to go along with a .366 on-base percentage.

Kaufman, a senior from Seattle, graduated with a degree in environmental studies and a 3.61 cumulative GPA. Bona's primary third baseman, he hit .290 with 10 doubles, eight home runs and 31 RBIs during the year and was at his best in A-10 play by hitting .315 with seven homers in conference games. During two seasons with the Bonnies, he compiled a .316 batting average.

Marshall picks up CSC Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive year following a standout senior season. The Downers Grove, Ill. native graduated with a degree in philosophy and a 3.72 cumulative GPA. On the diamond, he received Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors for the second year in a row, doing so at second base this spring after registering the accolades last year at shortstop. He produced a .342/.404/.520 offensive slash line this year with eight homers and 45 RBIs while his .377 batting average in conference play ranks tied for eighth in program history and his 33 conference RBIs represent a Bona single-season record, tying Joe Rizzo's mark from 2006. In two seasons with the program, Marshall racked up 126 hits and 80 RBIs.

Roggenburk completed a four-year Bonnies career with a 3.85 cumulative GPA in accounting while starting his graduate studies with a 3.57 GPA. The Avon Lake, Ohio native earns CSC Academic All-District distinction for the third consecutive year after recording three wins and four saves in 48 innings on the mound this season. He tossed 199 innings over his Bona career with seven total wins across 58 appearances with 120 career strikeouts.

Tharnish put together one of the best offensive seasons in recent Bona history this spring while also shining in the classroom with a 3.57 cumulative GPA as a finance major. He became just the seventh player in Bona's Division I era to hit over .400 for a season and first since 2013 as he ranked third among all A-10 players with a .403 batting average. He recorded the second-most hits in Bonnies single-season history (79) while also jumping up the program record book for runs (59, second), stolen bases (32, tied third) and A-10 batting average (.377, tied eighth) while his 26 multi-hit games are the most by any Bonnies player since 1995. Following the season, he also achieved Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors as Bona's everyday centerfielder.

CSC Academic All-District honorees are nominated by and voted on by the nation's sports information directors.
