ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Just over a month after winning the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket Gold Medal, Italian center Andrew Osasuyi has signed his letter of intent to join the St. Bonaventure men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season.

The 19-year-old averaged 7.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists over seven games in EuroBasket play with Italy. He posted a double-double (13 points, 12 rebounds) in a round of 16 win over Iceland (July 16) and lifted Italy to a championship win over Lithuania (July 20) with nine points, nine rebounds and two assists.

In 2024-25, Osasuyi averaged a double-double over seven games with Scafati in the Italy-NextGen Cup. His 10.3 rebounds per game ranked fifth in the league. Against Cremona, the Magenta native posted 19 points and a season-high 18 rebounds to go along with two blocks and three steals.

Osasuyi joins Achille Lonati (Italy) and Ilia Ermakov (Russia) as the third European player on the Bonnies' roster. He becomes the sixth international player to join St. Bonaventure this offseason alongside Canada natives Frank Mitchell, John Ikpotokin and Brayden Jackson.

Osasuyi and Lonati will become the first pair of Italian teammates in Division I men's basketball since Mattia De Campo and Scott Ulnaeo, who played together at Seattle from 2016 to 2018.

What they're saying about Andrew Osasuyi

Mark Schmidt, St. Bonaventure Head Men's Basketball Coach

"From the moment that I first saw Andrew on a basketball court in Rome, Italy this spring, I was instantly reminded of a young Osun Ossunyi. Andrew is a long, athletic big man who's shown an ability to dominate the paint on defense, both blocking shots and altering them. We will work to help him build out his physical strength as well as continue to round out an offensive skillset that includes an ability to step out and shoot from the perimeter. I'm thrilled for the opportunity to coach Andrew this season and beyond."

Adrian Wojnarowski, St. Bonaventure Men's Basketball General Manager

"Andrew Osasuyi comes to St. Bonaventure as one of the fastest developing young big men in Europe --- already a high-level shot-blocker, offensive rebounder and a lob threat. Andrew has shown a tremendous work ethic and will to improve his total game, and we believe he'll eventually become one of the best big men in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

"The Bonnies will be beneficiaries of the outstanding tutelage provided him with College Basket Borgomanero under general manager Federico Ferrari, and his impactful time with the gold-medal winning Italian National team in the FIBA Under-20 championships this summer. Andrew's representatives, Marco Calise and Stefano Muller of Tangram Sports, have been trusted partners in the recruiting process. Along with Andrew, they valued our small, close-knit environment and Coach Schmidt and his staff's remarkable track record of player and personal development. Andrew's arrival is yet another example of our program's commitment to mine the world for players who'll impact Bonnies basketball."
