The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team returns home after two straight road contests to host Mercyhurst on Sunday, Aug. 31. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies earned their first win of the season Thursday afternoon with a 1-0 victory at Saint Francis (PA), thanks to a second-half strike from Kyle Macfarlane in the 48th minute.
After a midfield turnover, sophomore Yaseen Khaled slipped a pass through to Macfarlane, who dribbled into the box and finished the eventual game-winner.
Freshman goalkeeper Felix Shöne secured his first collegiate victory and clean sheet, recording three saves for the Brown and White.
MACFARLANE MAKING HIS MARK
Junior transfer Kyle Macfarlane has made an immediate impact since joining the Bonnies this fall, registering a point in each of the team's first three matches.
He currently leads the squad with five points on two goals and one assist. Macfarlane converted a penalty kick in the season opener against Niagara, then tallied an assist at Bucknell on Aug. 24 before netting the game-winner at Saint Francis.
GOING THE DISTANCE
Juniors Hugo Berville and Callum Shillington have played every minute of all three Bonnies matches this season. Macfarlane also went the distance in the first two games before logging 80 minutes in Thursday's win.
