BUFFALO – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to Niagara and Buffalo Friday afternoon.

The Bonnies fell to Niagara, 5-2, in the morning match and dropped the match to Buffalo, 7-0.

Winning for the Bonnies against the Purple Eagles was Tamara Bachmann and Sara Montano Parada.

Bachmann bested Gabriela Melo at No. 2 singles in straight sets, 7-6, 7-6. Montano Parada defeated Saloni Tamang at the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 6-2.

The Bonnies are back in action Thursday, Oct. 9 at the ITA Regionals hosted by Harvard.

"We struggled in the first match in doubles but competed well in singles with a couple of wins by Tamara and Sara. Against Buffalo, we played much better doubles and had a couple good chances there and in singles just a tough day with a couple injuries. Sara played really well at number one and had a couple chances to win that match and got it to a third set unfortunately came up a little short, but it was a good learning experience and looking forward to our next competition."
