The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team returns home to host Little Three rival Canisius on Wednesday, Sept. 10, with kickoff slated for 6:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.
The Bonnies then head back on the road to open Atlantic 10 play at Duquesne on Sunday, Sept. 14. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Pittsburgh.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies fell on the road to Le Moyne, 2-1, last Wednesday in Syracuse.
Gabriel Addo opened the scoring in the 12th minute off an assist from Dean Mercer, but the Dolphins answered in the 24th minute before netting the game-winner in the 70th.
In goal, Felix Schöne stopped a career-high five shots for the Bonnies.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Freshman goalkeeper Felix Schöne leads the Atlantic 10 in minutes played (450:00). He also ranks fourth in the conference with two shutouts and fifth with 14 saves.
IN THE RANKS
Seth Hammond and Kyle Macfarlane are tied for sixth in the A-10 with two goals apiece. Macfarlane also stands seventh in the league with five points on two goals and an assist.
CANISIUS NOTES
- Canisius enters Wednesday's matchup 1-2-1 overall, coming off a 2-2 draw at Cleveland State on Saturday. The Golden Griffins opened the 2025 campaign with a 3-0 win over VMI before falling to Virginia Tech and Duquesne. They were picked to finish 11th in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference preseason poll.
- Gabriel Leslie leads the team with four points on two goals, while Noah Baumslag has three points with a goal and an assist. In net, Dom Dominguez and Preston Harold have each started two games. Harold has tallied 10 saves, while Dominguez has stopped nine shots.
DUQUESNE NOTES
- The Dukes begin the week 3-0-1 with shutout wins over Seton Hill (3-0), Canisius (3-0), and Syracuse (1-0), along with a 2-2 draw against Robert Morris. Last season, Duquesne finished 11-4-2 overall and 5-2-1 in Atlantic 10 play, falling to Fordham in the first round of the A-10 Tournament. They were picked to finish sixth in the preseason poll.
- Dakota Jonke leads the Dukes with seven points on three goals and an assist. Hakon Dagur Matthiasson follows with five points on two goals and an assist. Goalkeeper Diego Chavez has started all four games, making 14 saves.
UP NEXT
The Bonnies return to action Saturday, Sept. 20, when they travel to Davidson. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. in North Carolina.
