Bonnies Cross Country / Track Welcomes 19 Recruits For 2026-27

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Nineteen student-athletes have committed to join the St. Bonaventure men's and women's cross country/track programs for the 2026-27 academic year.

Mason Burford, Luke Campbell, Grant Cornell, Mason Curl, Sam Duffy, Hamaad Jenkins, Jake Schonhoff and Ethan Shepherd have signed to the men's program while Siena Bammel, Jennifer Bouquin, Maya Boyington, Sydney Dunn, Jahrie Houle, Estella Hyde, Ella Gaskell, Charlotte Tower, Olivia Wayne, Marin Weibel and Ella Wieczorek are set to run for the women's teams.

"We're excited to welcome a large and impactful class of 16 cross country and distance runners and three sprinters," Bonnies head coach Bob Macfarlane said. "This group brings depth, competitiveness, and the work ethic needed to elevate our programs. We're excited to welcome these student-athletes while we continue to actively recruit and build depth on our newly formed sprint and hurdle squads."

Mason Burford signed

Mason Burford is a recruit from Clarion, Pa. and will specialize in track at SBU. A three-time All-Conference pick in track and field, he helped Clarion Area High win a PIAA state title. During his high school career, he competed in the 110-meter hurdles, the 200 and the 400. An honor roll student, he intends to major in marketing/finance.


Luke Campbell signed

Luke Campbell comes to SBU from Barrie, Ontario where he runs for St. Joseph's Catholic High School. A mid-distance and distance athlete, he has competed in the 800 and 1500 meters in track along with cross country. He plans to major in finance.


Grant Cornell signed

Grant Cornell is a local product from Franklinville, N.Y. where he runs for Franklinville Central School. A First Team CCAA All-Star in both cross country and track since eighth grade, he has qualified for the New York State Cross Country Championships in each of the past four years, earning All-State as a junior. In track, he qualified for the Section 6 championships for the 3200 and steeplechase every year since he was an eighth-grader. He also competed in local, regional and national Junior Olympics steeplechase events. A National Honor Society member, he plans to major in physical education.


Mason Curl signed

Mason Curl is a native of Voorheesville, N.Y. where he captured All-State honors in cross country. An honor roll student, he plans to major in finance.


Mason Curl signed

Sam Duffy joins Bona's from Stow, Mass. as a distance runner. He qualified for states in cross country and is a four-time league all-star. He plans to major in chemistry at St. Bonaventure.


Hamaad Jenkins signed

Hamaad Jenkins is a native of Catasauqua, Pa. and will join the Bonnies sprint squad. An All-State track and field honoree in Pennsylvania, he runs the 100, 200 and 400. He is also an honor roll student in the classroom and plans to major in sports management.


Jake Schonhoff signed

Jake Schonhoff comes to St. Bonaventure from Cumberland, R.I. and is a mid-distance and distance athlete. He is a two-time Rhode Island All-State honoree, qualifying for indoor and outdoor track state championships three times each. He also helped his Cumberland High squad finish second in the 2023 Rhode Island State Championships while earning an All-State finishing spot. He is a National Honor Society member and intends to major in data science.


Ethan Shepherd signed

Ethan Shepherd hails from Ashburn, Va. where he runs for Stone Bridge High School. An All-District, All-Region and two-time Virginia AAA state qualifier, he has served as his cross country team captain the past two seasons while also running the 800 and 1600 in track. He plans to major in business.


 

Siena Bammel signed

Siena Bammel heads to Bonaventure from Glenelg, MD where she is a two-time Maryland All-State honoree for cross country. In track, she placed third at her conference meet last spring in the 3200 meters and also helped her 4x800 relay teams to second-place finishes during indoor and outdoor championships. A lacrosse-first athlete until high school, she picked up cross country as a freshman. In the classroom she is a National Honor Society member who intends to major in health sciences.


Maya Boyington signed

Maya Boyington calls Orono, Maine home where she runs for Orono High School. A distance runner, she helped her team to three Class C State Championships and is a four-time cross country All-Conference selection. A National Honor Society member, she plans to major in public health.


Jennifer Bouquin signed

Jennifer Bouquin is from just over the state line in Bradford, Pa. where she is a standout for Bradford Area High. Running the 800, 1600, 3200 and 4x800 at Bradford, she has made her mark in track. On the cross country side, she was also selected as her team MVP. She is a National Honor Society member who plans to major in public health.
 
Olivia Dunn signed

Sydney Dunn is from Pittsburgh where she runs at North Catholic High. A distance specialist, she was picked First Team All-Conference as a junior for cross country after a Second Team selection the year before. Dunn is a two-time WPIAL conference champion and also a four-time WPIAL conference medalist. She qualified for the prestigious Penn Relays as well. An honor roll student, she plans to major in health sciences with a focus in nursing.


Ella Gaskell signed

Ella Gaskell is a native of Tolland, Conn. where she is an All-Conference selection from Tolland High School. Her top event is the 400 meters. She plans to major in health sciences at St. Bonaventure.


Jouhrie Houle signed

Jahrie Houle is another New England product from Durham, N.H. and has been part of New Hampshire Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track State Championship teams at Oyster River High School. A distance runner, she plans to major in journalism.


Estella Hyde signed

Estella Hyde is a product of Delanson, N.Y. and Duanesburg High. She is a four-time all-league selection in cross country, also earning that honor twice in track. Hyde captained her cross country squad in each of the past five years and her track team the past two seasons. Last year, she earned the NYSPHSAA Sportsmanship Award at state championships. Also an honor roll student, she plans to major in business/marketing.


Charlotte Tower signed

Charlotte Tower comes to Bona's from nearby Grand Island, N.Y. where she was selected First Team All-Conference in each of the past two seasons, specializing in the 3000 and 6000 meters as well as the steeplechase. A National Honor Society member, she plans to major in education.


Olivia Wayne signed

Olivia Wayne calls Hyde Park, N.Y. home where she is an all-conference pick in both cross country and track. A team captain for cross country and track, she helped her teams to conference titles in both. For track, she runs the 800, 1500 and steeplechase.


Marin Weibel signed

Marin Weibel hails from Germantown, Ohio where she runs for Valley View High School. She has captured All-League honors multiple seasons for cross country and earned All-District for the 3200 meters in track. She holds her school record for the 3200m and ranks third for the 5K. Her Valley View squad qualified for cross country regionals in back-to-back years, a first for the program. An honor roll student, she plans to major in biology.


Ella Wieczorek signed

Ella Wieczorek is a product of Erie, Pa. where she is a member of the General McLane programs. She qualified for Pennsylvania Cross Country State Championships three times during her high school career. She plans to major in political science at St. Bonaventure.

St. Bonaventure's running programs continue to expand with next year's rosters surpassing 80 student-athletes.
