The St. Bonaventure baseball team travels to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to begin a three-game series against 3-1 Middle Tennessee. Game one starts at 3 p.m. Central Time on Friday, with game two and three following on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Central Time. All three games will have a radio broadcast through the MTSU website.
LEADOFF SPOT
The Bonnies opened the season with strong showings at the plate from a handful of players.
Manuel Castro led the way at UNC Asheville last weekend, batting .471 over opening weekend with eight hits, including two home runs.
Antonio Cordeiro and Anthony Fernandez also had contributions at the plate. Cordeiro held a .438 batting average with seven hits. Fernandez drew six walks and finished the weekend with a team-high .556 on-base percentage.
Enger Paulino pitched five innings in his first start of the season and only gave up two hits and one run while striking out four batters. His ERA stands the lowest among the starters right now with a mark of 1.80.

SERIES HISTORY
MTSU leads, 6-2
The Bonnies are traveling to Middle Tennessee for the fourth straight year with the Blue Raiders owning a 6-2 lead. The Bonnies got their first win in the series in 2024 with a 12-2 victory in seven innings then enjoyed a perfect trip last season when they swept round robin play vs. MTSU (13-3), UT Martin (13-6) and Old Dominion (7-4).
In last year's win, Chris Hoalcraft went 4-for-5 with three RBIs while Antonio Corderio drove in two runs and walked twice. Conner Vercollone also went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE NOTES
- Scheduled Friday starter Drew Horn was named to the 2025 All-Conference USA Preseason team after he struck out 57 hitters across 46.1 IP last season.
- The Blue Raiders reloaded their roster after signing 12 newcomers from the transfer portal. MTSU has nly one true freshman on the team.
- Middle Tennessee ranks 10th in the preseason Conference USA poll.
- MTSU opened the year by winning two of three games against Bellarmine last weekend before a 19-2 win over Alabama A&M on Tuesday.
