HAMPTON, Va. – A new school record from freshman
Emanuele Zingaro's led the action for the St. Bonaventure men's swim and dive team Thursday at the Atlantic 10 Championships as the Bonnies sit third in the team standings after the second day of competition.

St. Bonaventure's 186 points after day two rank behind George Washington's 270 points and George Mason's 199. Following behind the Bonnies are La Salle (175), Davidson (161), Fordham (139) and Saint Louis (108).

Zingaro posted his new Bona's record in the 50-free as he placed fourth in the championship final with a time of 19.71, improving upon his mark of 19.96 in the prelims. He topped the time of 19.84 posted by Michael Pilyugin, '16, which had stood since 2016.
The Varese, Italy native also synced up with juniors
Carlos Hidalgo,
Kevyn Collazo Torres and
Joseph Pyon to place fifth in the 200-free relay (1:19.47).

Trailing Zingaro in the 50-free prelims was Hidalgo, who registered a time of 20.42 to qualify for the consolation final. He placed third in that race after improving to a mark of 20.12.

In the 200-IM prelims, Collazo Torres notched a time of 1:47.70 to qualify for the championship final, in which he sped to a fourth-place finish (1:47.28), missing a spot on the podium by just 0.38 seconds. Sophomore
Grant Chapa qualified with a mark of 1:49.24 in the prelims which he shortened to 1:48.20 to take first place in the consolation final.

The Bonnies were well represented in the 500-free finals heats as junior
Johnny Edwards (4:28.13), sophomore
Mark Mizsei (4:32.43), senior
Will Foggin (4:33.04) and freshman
David Mutter (4:35.38) all made the cut following prelims. Edwards placed eighth in the championship final with a mark of 4:28.10. In the consolation final, Mizsei placed second (4:30.05), Foggin placed sixth (4:35.22) and Mutter finished seventh (4:36.65).
