WASHINGTON, D.C. – St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse freshman Miles Tropea has earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors after playing a key role in Bona's victory last week, conference officials announced Monday.
The Seattle, Wash. native helped power Bonaventure's 14-11 win over defending NEC champion Robert Morris this past Tuesday as he scored the first two goals of his collegiate career.
Both of his goals came during the second half as the Bonnies squashed a Robert Morris rally and pulled away for their second consecutive win. He tallied his first-ever Division I goal at the 1:23 mark of the third to give the Bonnies an 8-6 lead, then scored again with 1:54 remaining in the fourth to help ice the game.
He shares top A-10 Rookie weekly honors this week with Will Barber of Saint Joseph's.
The Bonnies (2-1) are back in action at Bellarmine Tuesday with faceoff coming at noon.
