ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team scored a 6-1 win over Binghamton in the home opener Friday afternoon.

The Bonnies got off to a fast start, sweeping all three doubles matches from the Bearcats.

The duo of Tamara Bachmann and reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Sara Montano Parada bested Loren Cuomo and Angel Walia at No. 1, 6-4.

Kelly Barnes and Sienna Smith teamed up for a win at No. 2 against Apara Khandare and Nitya Vyas, 6-3, while Gabriella Blumberg and Kashish Bote took down Adelie Wilson and Samantha Jaros, 6-3, to complete the sweep at No. 3 doubles.

Montano Parada cruised to a win in straight sets at No. 1 singles over Cuomo, 6-4, 6-2.

Smith also picked up a win in straight sets at No. 3 for the Brown and White, defeating Khandare, 6-3, 6-1.

Barnes clinched the win for the Bonnies with a straight-set, 6-0, 6-1, victory over Wilson at No. 6 singles.

Bachmann secured a victory at No. 2 singles, battling back from a set down to win in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5.

Bote capped off the winning with a three-set win at No. 4 singles, 1-6, 7-6, 10-4.

The Bonnies will travel to Orlando, Fla. for spring break with their first match set for Monday, March 2 against Davenport.
