COMMERCE, Texas – The St. Bonaventure University softball team dropped its final game at the East Texas A&M Leadoff to Bucknell, 7-3, Sunday morning.
The Bison scored first in Sunday's finale, plating the game's first run in the bottom of the first with a double from Skye Perez.
Bucknell doubled its lead a few batters later with an RBI single from Brooke Popella.
The Bison tacked on three insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth on a pair of doubles and a single.
The Bonnies, however, cut into the deficit in the top of the fifth when Lauren Dundon belted a two-run home run to left field, making it a 5-2 ballgame.
Bucknell would get the two runs right back in the bottom of the fifth, scoring on a double and a single.
Bona's pulled a run back in the top of the seventh when Colsten Beers came around to score on an error, but that is as close as they would get as Bucknell would close out the game, capturing the 7-3 win.
Beers finished the game with three hits while Kymora Wang also registered a multi-hit game.
Ava Lomelin scattered three hits in three innings of working while striking out a pair. Kendall Stull and Mackenzie Frani worked in relief.
The Bonnies return to the field at the Wofford Invitational Feb. 13-15 in Spartanburg, S.C.
