First Pitch
St. Bonaventure opens conference play in the Atlantic 10 this weekend, traveling to Virginia to take on George Mason. The series will start on Friday, March 13 and wrap up on Sunday, March 15 as the Bonnies look to start conference play on a strong note following 15 non-conference games to begin the spring. Each of this weekend's games will be carried on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
St. Bonaventure dropped a 15-9 mid-week decision at Binghamton on Tuesday. Junior catcher Antonio Cordeiro had a strong day at the plate, homering and driving in five runs to lead the Bonnies.

Fantastic Fernandez
After reaching base on Tuesday against Binghamton and in all three games last weekend, outfielder Anthony Fernandez has reached base in 10 straight games. The junior has now reached base in 13 of 15 games this season and is hitting .321 with a .448 on base percentage. Fernandez also leads the team with four stolen bases this season. 

Good First Impression
Junior third baseman Manuel Castro launched his third home run of the season in last Friday's loss to Marshall. Since joining the Bonnies this past fall, the former junior college All-American leads the team in batting average (.351) and home runs and is tied for the team lead in hits (20).

George Mason Notes

• Entering this week, George Mason is 6-8 while hitting .267 as a team with a 6.29 team ERA.
• Last season, the Patriots went 40-21, including 20-10 in the A-10 and reached the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
• George Mason was picked to finish second in the A-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving four first-place votes and finishing 14 points back of Rhode Island for first.
• The Patriots return 13 players from last year's roster and added 19 newcomers
