Mitchell, Simmons II Receive NABC All-District Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Frank Mitchell and Buddy Simmons II have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) North Atlantic All-District teams, the NABC announced Tuesday (March 17). Mitchell earned first team honors, while Simmons II was named to the second team.
 
The All-District Teams are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
 
Averaging 16.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, Mitchell was one of the most productive players in the country this season. He ranked eighth in the country in total rebounds (346) and tied for fourth with 19 double-doubles. His 4.26 offensive rebounds per game and 145 total offensive boards led the nation.
 
Mitchell climbed to fifth in the Bonnies' leaderboard for total rebounds in a season, tallying the most rebounds by a St. Bonaventure player since Glenn Price's 374 boards in 1973-74.
 
On Wednesday (March 11), Mitchell was named to the All-Atlantic 10 third team for his efforts. 
 
Simmons II was a dominant scoring presence throughout the season for the Bonnies, tallying double-digit scoring efforts in 28 games, with 20-plus points in 11 games and 30-plus points twice. He led the Bonnies in scoring in a team-best 14 games.
 
On the season, Simmons II led the Bonnies in three-pointers made with 94, tied for the fourth-most in a season in school history. Simmons II's three-point percentage of 42.53 (94-for-221) ranked 18th in the nation and second in the Atlantic 10 conference.
